History

State Reserve Police Force, Group VIII is established vide State Government Resolution dated 30/04/1969. The group actually was made functional on 09-06-1969 and was initially located at Marol, Mumbai. The group was started with four Companies. Then in 1976 the group is shifted to its present location. Now a full-fledged group is functional with eight active companies, two headquarter Companies (1.Training & Reserve and 2.Administation), and two Technical support service Unites i.e. Motor transport and Wireless.
