History

During the period of Saint Dhoumya a village Daund was situated near the western bank of Bheema. It was surrounded by nature's beauty. People of different religion, cast of Pune, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Beed, Nashik, Osmanabad, Latur and Aurangabad etc. were living in the nearby districts. Because of certain reasons riot/revolt arises in which these people were found. Due to this problem arise in front of the state Government and to overcome this problem vide the State Government letter No. SRP 4062/ C-1616-V, SACHIVALAYA, BOMBAY, Dtd. 17th May 1965 this group No. 5 was established at Daund. Shri H. T. Surve was appointed as first Commandant of Group No. 5 Daund
